How I Got Involved With SFI
In the past I owned a company I started from scratch, and the name of this company was Golden Glove & Safety. I supplied a lot of work gloves, plus many other safety supplies, to many customers throughout Oregon and Washington. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun.
However, the SARS epidemic spread around the world in 2002-2003, and I found myself totally caught up selling respirators to all kinds of customers in both Canada and the United States initially. When I got my first big order, it was to another safety supplier in Canada, for a total of $43,000. Supplies were already starting to get scarce at that time, and my order was stopped by my wholesale supplier the morning it was to ship. They were my only sizeable source for respirators at that time, so now I was virtually unable to sell respirators, and the demand was huge.
Within a few days I received a call from a fellow in Canada, and he told me he had a source for respirators, and was wondering if I would be willing to work a 50/50 deal with him. I was elated to have a source for product, so I readily agreed to his offer.
Now, you need to understand how fast and furious things were happening during that SARS epidemic, as everyone was literally scared to death…especially in the Far East where it had hit the hardest. I had people of Japanese ancestry calling me throughout the day wanting to purchase respirators to send back to the “homeland.” My days, for a period of two months, were non-stop in answering phone calls and placing orders. It really got to be a little crazy.
Then one day I received a call from a large company in Indonesia, and they wanted to know if I could fill a large order for them. I informed them I had the volume of respirators they needed, and they wired the money to my account so I could purchase the necessary supplies. I began having some problems with the fellow in Canada getting the orders filled on time, but they did get filled. Then I got a second call from the same company in Indonesia for an even larger order, which was around $100,000. Again they wired the money to my bank account, and I in turn wired the funds to my fellow in Canada to fill this order. Things got worse at this point, and the order did not get filled. Needless to say, the heads of the company in Indonesia began wondering where their order was, as they had wired a very large sum of money to me.
The long and short of it was that the money disappeared somewhere between Canada and Florida, which I found out later after a lot of searching. I ended up being sued for the lost money, as I had been the party that had taken the original order.
I was terribly upset, as I had always prided myself in doing things right. My business, after moving to Whidbey Island in Washington State, began to go downhill…for a number of reasons. So I made the decision to close my business.
I began looking at the internet for a new business that I could enter into, as I had to replace the income I lost from my prior business. The first business that I can remember joining at that time was SFI. But I really was a complete novice online, and I didn’t stick with SFI then. Fast forward to 2011, and I was once again introduced to SFI. Wow!! I saw a completely different company than what I had seen years earlier, and I was more than glad to jump back into being an affiliate with SFI. They have grown from just ONE product to over 43,000 products from businesses all over the world. I am very impressed, and I have gone from an affiliate to executive affiliate, and then to Team Leader in only three weeks. If you want to be involved in a company that is growing at around 20,000 new members monthly, and globally involved, then please come and join my team. Just click on one of the two banners on this site, and get yourself signed up. I am here to help every step of the way.
